Handstand 1/2: Tuck and L Shape

PREREQUISITES: 
Participants must feel comfortable to begin to kick off the floor into a handstand towards the wall with one or both legs.

Props/Training Tools:

  • Mat or carpet

  • Blocks

  • Wall and training area free of anything that could get in the way of safe training.

Class is structured to enhance greater balance, control, and endurance leading up to supported (wall) handstands. We will spend a significant portion of the class on the mat with drills tailored for the requirements of going upside down with arms straight overhead. Class will then move to the wall to put the mat drills into effect. We will focus on maintaining alignment and control during transitions through tuck and single leg, and will build endurance will L-Shaped holds. Class content will aim to build the conditioning, technical understanding, and awareness through Isolation exercises, self-tactile cueing, and any other means that may be more individually directed.

Please note that online training does Service Agreement have added risk: There is no one there to spot you, ensure the safety of the area you are training in, the safety of equipment you are using, your readiness to train handstands, or monitor your alignment and approach to training. Please understand that you participate at your own risk.

  • Release, Waiver and Indemnity: You hereby release, hold harmless, indemnify and waive any claims against BLK Yoga, BlK Works Inc, and Bronwen Kettleson with respect to any and all liability and damages incurred during, or in any way associated with, your participation in the Activities with BLK Yoga, BlK Works Inc, and Bronwen Kettleson, however caused, including as a result of the Released Parties’ negligence, including but not limited to damage to or loss of personal property, personal injuries, death, illness, or any cause of action related to premises liability.
