WELCOME!

My aim through this platform is to contribute to one’s capacity to move with precision in as many ways as required and desired particular to the movement arts. Both yoga and dance require a strong technical understanding, a dedication to training and the openness to evolve from mere technical proficiency to artistry. My hope is to offer a piece of the body-mind movement puzzle that may lead to greater clarity, confidence and self-expression.

The Shift Series

April Focus: Volume Up

Volume Up is all about building momentum through rhythm, repetition, and refined control. The focus this month is on increasing output without sacrificing technique — moving with greater clarity, energy, and intention.

FRAMEWORK (Rebranded Barre class)
Monday 12 to 12:45 pm

Framework is a rhythm-driven class combining high-rep bodyweight sequences, coordination, and line control. With barre support and mat work, each session blends functional strength patterns with stylized movement phrases like tilt kicks, leg waves, and jumps — building intensity and complexity week by week.

This class is a rebrand of the previous Barre class and includes many of the same foundational exercises. For reference, view last week’s Barre and Mat class.

FLEX
Tuesday 12 to 12:30 pm

Flex is a mobility and active flexibility class designed to improve range, control, and long-term movement capacity. Each session targets key areas like hips, hamstrings, spine, and shoulders using dynamic drills, eccentric loading, and strength-infused stretching techniques.

Expect layered progressions that blend isolations, holds, and expanded shapes — all with an emphasis on neuromuscular control and usable flexibility. This class is ideal for movers looking to enhance technique, improve joint integrity, and move with more clarity and freedom.

SKILL DEVLOPMENT
Wednesdays or Thursdays 12 to 12:30

Skill Development is a focused class designed to improve movement quality through targeted drills, technique refinement, and choreographic combinations. Each session breaks down complex elements like inversions, transitions, floorwork, and flex skills into manageable progressions, with a strong emphasis on alignment, coordination, and control.

You’ll train foundational shapes and movement patterns using wall support, floor-based conditioning, and rhythm-based cues — all while developing the strength, focus, and consistency needed to build confidence in more advanced work over time.

Whether you're working on handstand prep, acro skills, line control, this class supports technical clarity and long-term progress.

Livestream sessions are held throughout the month to allow for consistency in mobility, conditioning, acro floorwork, handstands, yoga and dance training. Each month will add an extra element of focus. All classes are open to Members.

*No extra charges for livestreams—all are included in the membership.
*Classes are subject to changes and cancellations.
*Pre-registration is requested from members for most classes. No penalty for cancellations.

  • Currently Offered Classes

    Dance

    • À La Barre – Bronwen’s unique Barre classes, influenced by Ballet, Pole Dance, Jazz, and Flexibility training. These classes incorporate exercises relevant to the focus skill or movement of the session.

    • Acro Dance – A fusion of classical dance technique (Jazz and Ballet) with acrobatic elements, creating a dynamic and athletic dance style. Choreography seamlessly integrates both disciplines, using acrobatics within a dance framework.

    • Acro Dance Floorwork – A floor-based extension of Acro Dance, emphasizing skills such as Split on Arm, Shoulderstands (one-arm and both), Shoulder Rolls, Inversions, Kip-Ups, Stalls, and more.

    Flexibility & Mobility

    • Flex – Designed to develop active flexibility and end-range control through targeted exercises and skill progressions.

    Skill-Specific Classes

    • Bridges & Upward-Facing Wheel

    • Handstand & Handstand Prep

    • Bent-Arm Balances
Each of these skill classes can be applied to both dance and yoga practice.

    Yoga

    • Primarily Ashtanga and Contemporary Postural Yoga, blending structured sequencing with modern movement approaches.

  • Classes are offered at levels ranging from L1 to L5:

    • L1 assumes baseline mobility of fundamental bodyweight exercises. If not yet there, please contact Bronwen for private sessions.

    • L2 to L4 focus on building conditioning for splits, backbends, basic floorwork positions, and handstand holds (against the wall), along with some transitions in the centre.

    • L5 introduces more complex combinations of these elements, with greater precision, rhythm, and without support.

    • L6 (Coming soon) will include freestanding handstand transitions, soft acrobatics, and contortion positions.

  • All classes are designed for individuals in good health, with no injuries or conditions that could interfere with safe training.

L1 requires a baseline ability in foundational bodyweight exercises, including plank, squat, hinge, lunge, standing forward fold, push-up, and cobra. Comfort with performing modifications, such as exercises from the knees, is also beneficial.

Please note that all classes are for general informational purposes only and are not intended for therapeutic use.

  • Training frequency varies based on several factors, including the number of hours spent training in other modalities, individual recovery time, and specific goals. For example, someone focused on maintaining mobility may train less frequently than someone preparing for a competition.

It is assumed that all participants are receiving adequate rest, nutrition, and support from applicable healthcare professionals. Bronwen views movement training as a lifelong pursuit, emphasizing long-term progress and adaptability. Training should be both consistent and enjoyable.

Always check in with yourself before each session to ensure you feel well enough to continue. Rest days are an essential part of the training process and should be prioritized accordingly.

  • Most of Bronwen’s videos are recorded in a home environment, with movement primarily contained within the space of a yoga mat or two. Some classes may incorporate supports such as a wall, the back of a chair, or a countertop. Acro Floorwork is the exception, as it may require more space.

Before training, ensure your space is free of clutter or any potential hazards to support a safe practice.

  • Ideal for dancers, pole and aerial enthusiasts, yogis, or anyone looking to develop strong, flexible, and fluid movement. Regardless of discipline, all training emphasizes technique, conditioning, and heightened movement awareness.

In addition to those seeking to break down movements and shapes specific to their practice—including the how-to of each move—some may also find value in exploring how these shapes and skills can be transformed into a moving art form.

  • Bronwen, now in her mid-40s, has trained in various movement disciplines since childhood. Her teaching mirrors her own approach to training—clear, concise instruction focused on alignment, technique, and conditioning. She not only breaks down skills but also connects them to progressions, whether within the same modality (e.g., how Downward Dog can develop into Handstands) or across disciplines (e.g., how a posture translates in Acro Dance).

Rather than emphasizing the execution of movements alone, Bronwen prioritizes refining and expanding movement ability. While strength and flexibility are valuable, she views them as part of a broader pursuit rather than the ultimate goal. By deepening awareness of body mechanics and movement vocabulary, she hopes to foster greater freedom, self-expression, and artistry throughout one’s lifespan.

  • You may cancel your membership at any time. To avoid automatic renewal, please allow a few days for processing before your next billing date.
