Handstand: Single Leg Lift Off

Props/Training Supports:

  • Mat or carpet

  • Blocks

  • Wall and training space free of anything that could get in the way of training safely.

  • Recommended: Mirror for reflection and camera to record your alignment when inverted.

PREREQUISITES: 
Participants must feel comfortable to begin to kick off the floor into a handstand towards the wall with one leg.

Class is structured to enhance greater balance, control, and endurance in a handstand moving to and from the wall through a single leg. Class will begin on the mat with a dynamic warm-up and conditioning drills tailored for the requirements of inversions. Class will then move to the wall to find alignment through fundamental shapes, enhance technical understanding and body awareness through isolation exercises, and develop greater balance and control through transitions on and off the wall. 



Please note that online training does have added risk: There is no one there to spot you, ensure the safety of the area you are training in, the safety of equipment you are using, your readiness to train handstands, or monitor your alignment and approach to training.

  • Release, Waiver and Indemnity: You hereby release, hold harmless, indemnify and waive any claims against BLK Yoga, Bronwen Kettleson, and BLK Works Inc with respect to any and all liability and damages incurred during, or in any way associated with, your participation in the Activities with BLK Yoga, Bronwen Kettleson, and BLK Works Inc, however caused, including as a result of the Released Parties’ negligence, including but not limited to damage to or loss of personal property, personal injuries, death, illness, or any cause of action related to premises liability.
