Props/Training Tools:

  • Training space free of anything that could get in the way of safety

  • Wall to invert against

  • Blocks

  • Carpet or Mat

  • Camera to provide you with visual feedback

PREREQUISITES: Handstand class assumes that people are able to old a handstand against the wall for 10 paced breaths.

Class is structured to enhance greater balance, control and endurance leading towards the handstand shapes that have been covered over the past two months in the livestream classes. We will spend a shorter portion of the class on the mat with drills tailored to the requirements of the shapes. Class will then spend the majority of the class on the wall to put the mat drills into practice. Class content will aim to build the conditioning, technical understanding and awareness through isolation exercises, self-tactile cueing and any other means that may be more individually directed.

Class was recorded as a livestream and has been edited. Please pause the video after the demonstration of each handstand drill to allow time for practice.

Please note that online training does have added risk: There is no one there to spot you, ensure the safety of the area you are training in, the safety of equipment you are using, your readiness to train handstands, or monitor your alignment and approach to training. Please understand that you participate at your own risk.

  • Release, Waiver and Indemnity: You hereby release, hold harmless, indemnify and waive any claims against BLK Yoga, BlK Works Inc, and Bronwen Kettleson with respect to any and all liability and damages incurred during, or in any way associated with, your participation in the Activities with BLK Yoga, BlK Works Inc, and Bronwen Kettleson, however caused, including as a result of the Released Parties’ negligence, including but not limited to damage to or loss of personal property, personal injuries, death, illness, or any cause of action related to premises liability.
