Jade Split Tutorial

Floor Jade Split Tutorial is a intermediate to advanced intermediate skill that requires a considerable degree of strength, flexibility and mobility to perform. The tutorial consists of two versions of the skill, which vary in hand, hip and leg position. Please Should you choose to practice alongside the tutorial, please ensure that you have performed an intermediate level warm-up that includes the range required for this skill. Mat or carpet is recommended.

While prerequisites do not ensure safety, they can offer some degree of preparation for the skill. You should be able to comfortably hold and breathe while in the following positions and sequences:

  • Wrist sequence offered in Handstand classes

  • Shoulderstands (w/ weight transference side to side)

  • Backbends: Camel/Wheel/Bridge

  • Bent-Arm Balance Prep

  • Crow

  • Splits: Square Hips and Performance

  • One Arm Side Planks

Props/Training Supports:

  • Carpet or mat for conditioning

  • Large enough area to move around in safely

Please note that online training does have added risk: There is no one there to spot you, ensure the safety of the area you are training in, the safety of equipment you are using, your readiness to train skills, or monitor your alignment and approach to training. Please understand that you participate at your own risk.
